Also, for those aware of the Pet Wiki https://petto.fandom.com/wiki/Pet_Wiki and the anime scheduled for January 6th, same again, if you are up for taking part obviously do so if and however you like!
Everyone share the anime/wikis they are invested in however much, and the progress here on the Given Wiki with its ongoing developments, and other wikis, and the more the merrier! Of course, and happy New Year when it arrives! 🎉
So this template, the "Previous" and "Next" section shows N/A and I can't figure out how to you know like omg I suck at explaining haahha..
Like the episode infobox where it shows "Next" episode link, as well as it is showing the previous episode... Link!
Can you do the same with this ? I tried multiple times but I can't figure out how to set it up so the next and previous volume will be displayed when using the template on an article like it does with the episode infobox. It would be most appreciated if you could help me with that O_O
Thank you in advance!
The DVD template's "Previous" and "Next" sections are not allowing the information to be entered when the template is used on a page. So the best way of having this function comes in the form of making use of the portable infoboxes and applying CSS to achieve the appearances you like.
Sure it is nice to create something using the template, but portable infoboxes are a relatively recent and welcome means of having the infobox appear well no matter which device (like a phone, tablet, computer and so forth) it is viewed on.
You have a very keen eye for the details, up for checking the wikis CSS and other wikis CSS, that enables the designs you make to at least be seen by more people which is of course a point of them!
Guess everything is until you become more familiar with it, just takes practice! For the template best to choose Contact us on Zendesk and file the question there.
As for the portable infoboxes when in edit mode on a page Insert infobox is the way forward, and create new ones there using the fun filled templates! It was a welcome overall to create ideal infoboxes right away portable and all.
On Wiki Activity Insights is on the right, the template infoboxes can be converted in the Non-portable infoboxessection and obviously I can just help you convert them by choosing Generate draft markup if you would like!
If you loved Given and are upset that it ended, I suggest that you give ACTORS -Songs Connection- a chance. The story follows a young boy named Saku Otonomiya who is very shy in person & has just transferred into a brand new school. Their he will meet lots of friends. But, not a lot of people know that he can sing. Feel free to check out the wiki down below!
More like an ongoing adventure! For real can stick with editing the wikis, like set on detailing the Given manga, and alternate depending on whatever. Just like here, thanks for pointing out the series, will check it out!
It’s quite the look, checking just to make sure he is registering what is happening, and playing his guitar with no expressions, just ensuring he soaks in every second. You were right to put amazed, but it’s the silent this is amazing but no faces of wonder, just have to make sure it is paid attention to like. Benumbed in the sense that nothing could snap Ritsuka out of that concentration, quietly transfixed on Mafuyu as he is.
Ritsuka focusing on Mafuyu is one of many options for a rename.
If you do need to change an image name, a rename works as a redirect. Yes the lovely new title will be there for the image like so, but the original name will remain in source mode on a page. That image is on the Episode 9/Image Gallery article and Ritsuka Uenoyama Anime/Image Gallery, and see how it’s an idea to change it manually if it is to be extra right.
For other images, if an image has a legible name it may be best kept the way it is. There can be changing standards of what makes for a good image title (“Episode 1 image”, “ep 1 – img 20”, “Ritsuka looking at Mafuyu” and anything and everything else) yet rather than rename all images every now and again, if the image title is a legible one and not a bunch of random numbers, it’s all good to be kept the way it is.
It’s not about getting the ‘perfect’ image name, what can be considered perfect changes over time, it’s about having a legible title over a random number one, then investing efforts in other areas. Alternatively rename away and leave the original names in source mode, they are not hurting anyone and if people come across them they can search for the image and find the rename so everything is ideal anyway!
Hello, I apologize for the bother but I had some questions about the available discussion moderator title that you mentioned in our conversation about me becoming an admin. I know that the title is fairly self-explanatory but I was wondering what all the discussion moderator does?
Hi there! Won’t hear a word of it - never any bother, glad to hear from you! Discussions moderators on wikis are able to help edit Discussions posts from adding additional categories to make them more visible to editing the text within them, deleting if necessary.
Generally speaking though it is best that people are fine adding whatever they want, still as you have seen sometimes duplicate Discussions posts are added that are best removed, a message may be overall good but could be edited to remove profanity for example. Editing the categories is the best practical use to share content further.
The other stepping stone and possible area is the Rollback user group. On wikis sometimes there can be accounts that may add non-useful content repeatedly on a page. Yet with a simply choosing of a button all the spamming time is undone just like that, who can say why vandals bother XD
Thank you for the explanation! How would I go about proving to you, DragonKestrel, and Craneface that I am worthy of this "title"? Aka what are things I could do to show that I know how to be a discussion moderator and know how to handle the tools responsibly?
Anytime! The thing is, User:Craneface is the best person to ask, being relatively new the Given Wiki is an excellent area for trying new areas so it’s only fair in a way to allow Craneface to make the decisions in what is an opportune learning curve!
Yet obviously I mean to help anyone and everyone so for Discussions whilst this one is great overall, see how it was posted under General? Having polls under Polls allows for people to choose that category and find every poll ever posted in Discussions to take part in!
On episode polls more than one can be posted since there is more than six major things going on in any situation. Sharing music videos and other things for people to see is perfect; bringing Given areas to greater prominence is an excellent thing to do. The point is with Discussions the more content the better, unlike other controlled Discussions areas there is no need for restrictions (obviously the other extreme should be kept in mind, no point people adding Discussions posts of no substance) so here is our chance to do Discussions well, see if we can balance things and show what works best, if it works best.
But yes think you would be okay editing Discussions posts adding them to the right categories? It's not too complicated at all so there's no risk of anything going off the rails XD ) If duplicate posts are accidentally added one says it all so would you think the duplicate messages are best to be removed? Removing messages if at all would only be done for duplicates, where freedom of speech issues are concerned it's vital people say anything like they. The best Discussions areas are a guided free for all, people can post anything they want to, but have it nice and maintained since we all warrant the nice things!
Aw I'm sorry didn't mean for it to be daunting, but hey good news that's pretty much everything covered! Truly it has to be fun though since if you're not enjoying yourself, well anyone would be like "laterz!" but it is, I just didn't get that through in the description XD but yes even if you were a bureaucrat of a wiki always feel free to ask for help. Should not be an assumption that everything is known, no one ever stops learning and everyone being supportive is best!
Thank you for the messages! and the lovely .gifs! It was best just to resume rather than have an announcement or something, since helping is all that matters of course.
You are fully correct though, basically what this means is I can now help in a wider range of areas, and on that DragonKestrel with your bot active now is the time. Whenever you are ready on your bot account copy and paste the below into the created common.js page.
Craneface and anyone else get involved too; the bots are going to add the wikis very impressive image collections into categories for starters and the idea is all can be at ease using one extremely handy partner to benefit a wiki!
Best case in the good news there are active users both to arrange the affiliation and build the Idolish7 and Given Wiki's to help support the series further. Even more best case for yourself since you can take part there ;D
