Revision as of 19:38, 27 February 2020

The Given movie is scheduled to air on May 16th, 2020.

After the broadcast of the 11th episode and final episode of Lerche's Given, it was announced that a theatrical adaptation of Natsuki Kizu's BL manga is in the works.

The film will be produced under Fuji TV's Blue Lynx label, which focuses on the boys' love genre and primarily works on theatrical animation. This will be the label's second project, with Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai: The Clouds Gather being the first.

Kizu has serialized Given in Shinshokan's Cheri+ since April 2013. Shinshokan published the fifth compiled volume on April 1.

The TV anime, Hikaru Yamaguchi (Escha Chron), began airing on July 12 with a duration of 22 minutes per episode on Fuji TV's noitaminA programming block. It was the first boys' love anime to ever air during the program. Crunchyroll streamed the series on its platform while it was airing.

Background

News of its release was first announced on September 19, 2019, upon the release of Episode 11, the final episode of the Given anime.
