This thread is about the movie. You can watch the Given series on Crunchyroll too, which is actually why it is available on VRV.
Pretty sure VRV does not have the Given movie.
Too bad this article doesn't have box office numbers for the movie, but it seems it is doing okay.
The "as far as I'm concerned" part weakens your rationale, but I'd like to see a sequel series too. As I said in my first reply, the pace of the first series makes it so more episodes would do a much better job with the story.
There is no evidence that there is any count other than 11 episodes for the series at this point. People were just thrown off, because that is an unusual episode count lately. However, there are well known anime like AnoHana that were only 11 episodes, so it isn't unheard of.
FYI, Astra: Lost in Space and O Maidens in Your Savage Season are really good anime. Completely different from given, but really good.
Apparently BL fans are out in force at AniTrendz.
Okay, I found what might be a partial source for MAL... still not sure where they got the end date unless someone just projected it.
The given.com website BD/DVD info says Vol 4 will have eps 9 - 11. However, the website seems to be incomplete with its info, so maybe there will be a Vol 5 with a few more eps (12 & 13?).
I suspect someone edited the info without following a MAL policy. If you look at other currently airing anime, they never put an end date until the anime has finished its run.
Also, despite how accurate MAL seems, it is still a secondary source (like Wikipedia), so in combo with the non-standard episode count and end date, I wouldn't trust it.
I would like to know where you heard 11 episodes. Sounds like a non-credible source.
Pretty sure it will be more than 11... just for typical anime schedules in Japan, 11 is a very strange number... the minimum is usually 12. Also, 5 volumes is actually a low count for an anime series unless they do filler until the source catches up. Many anime are 1 volume per episode.
With the slow pace of the series, I would hope it gets like 20+ episodes.
Hopefully, there is more music.
